In this project, I spearheaded the creation of a support chat bot app from the ground up, aiming to provide field users with a seamless experience for generating support tickets. The primary challenge was gaining stakeholder buy-in, given a previous unsuccessful attempt and internal complexities within the organization. Leveraging insights from past projects, I successfully navigated these challenges, aligning diverse perspectives and securing the necessary support and funding.
To kickstart the project, I utilized existing research to craft a clear vision and alternative mockups, ensuring alignment across the team. A detailed analysis of existing processes and architect mappings informed our approach, and I proposed a phased implementation plan to minimize disruptions.
As the sole designer on this novel chat bot initiative, I collaborated closely with the team and developers to create a user-friendly design from scratch. Despite budget constraints leading to the removal of certain features, we effectively designed the UI to cover the functionalities initially planned for the chat bot.
Feedback from moderated user testing was overwhelmingly positive, with users expressing satisfaction with the app's simplicity and design. Despite challenges such as feature descoping, I adeptly managed the UI creation, delivering a comprehensive prototype that accurately represented the user journey.
This project highlights my ability to lead the development of a new support tool, demonstrating proficiency in navigating challenges, aligning stakeholders, and delivering a user-friendly design while adhering to budget constraints. I am enthusiastic about the positive impact this app will have in transforming support tools and setting new standards within our company.
In this project, the goal was to develop a user-friendly and efficient One-stop Shop Ecommerce Delivery Dashboard for eCommerce retailers, integrating seamlessly with Shopify and utilizing Dlvvr's shipping options. The process began with outlining key requirements such as creating a comprehensive dashboard, integrating with Shopify, simplifying registration, implementing flexible billing, enabling service control, and incorporating time management features.
Research involved a detailed examination of how retailers managed orders on Shopify, identifying pain points for both major shipping carriers and same/next-day delivery services. The research highlighted various pros and cons, leading to the crafting of an ideal process that aimed to streamline the workflow, eliminate unnecessary steps, and prioritize simplicity and efficiency.
The design phase focused on ideation and feasibility, ensuring a 1-click installation, minimal training requirements, and seamless integration within Shopify. Despite certain limitations and time constraints, the majority of the outlined requirements proved achievable. Designing for Shopify involved a thorough analysis of user interactions, leveraging Shopify's design guidelines, and creating a visual hierarchy for the dashboard.
The resulting Dlvvr Dashboard achieved acclaim with a 5-star rating on the Shopify App Store, attributed to its seamless integration, automated processes, and user-friendly design. The success of this project reflects my ability to understand user needs, navigate design challenges, and deliver a highly-rated solution.
The Courier App project set out to revolutionize the same-day delivery experience by creating a groundbreaking app that prioritizes efficiency, innovation, and user-centric design. The goal was to establish a platform that would set new industry standards through a combination of practicality and cutting-edge features.
In a departure from conventional approaches, the research phase began with a blank canvas, devoid of preconceived notions or existing models. A competitive analysis confirmed the uniqueness of the endeavor, signaling a venture into uncharted territory. To truly understand courier needs, the team went hands-on, placing the app directly into the hands of frontline couriers for real-world feedback. The findings highlighted practical needs, such as the ability to stack orders and an automated guidance system, emphasizing simplicity over unnecessary complexity.
The design phase delved into the daily grind of couriers, addressing their feedback and tackling operational challenges. Collaborating with the team, innovative features like the "events" system emerged, allowing couriers to handle issues independently, reducing reliance on support and providing merchants with better live updates. Amid this iterative process, a comprehensive design system for the entire company was developed, focusing on consistency and user-friendliness.
The Courier App project transcended being a mere project; it was a hands-on journey of practical problem-solving. The strategic vision, unconventional research approach, and hands-on deployment underscored a commitment to disrupting the industry and anticipating unmet needs. Real-world challenges faced by couriers became the foundation for innovative solutions, showcasing an ability to navigate industry challenges practically. The project's success lies not only in its features but in the unique skill set that shaped and elevated its narrative.
